Picademy USA

In the summer of 2015, President Obama made call to action to create a Nation of Makers within the United States. We made a commitment in response to that call: we would train 100 teachers in digital making with Raspberry Pi in 2016. We’re well on our way to fulfilling that commitment with our pilot Picademy USA program.

Hosted by organizations such as the Computer History Museum and the Digital Harbor Foundation, the Raspberry Pi Foundation is delighted to bring this professional development program to the United States. Over the course of two days, 40 teachers will get hands-on with computing and discover the many ways the Raspberry Pi can be used in the classroom. No experience is necessary: the Foundation’s Education Team will help teachers discover practical ways in which Raspberry Pi can support and further their use of technology. At the end of the two days, attendees are pronounced Raspberry Pi Certified Educators and join an active network of teachers from around the world.

Four Picademy workshops will take place in 2016 at venues across the United States, with a goal of training 100 teachers in this pilot. This page will be updated with additional dates and locations as soon as they are confirmed.
