Cultural activities

During the afternoon of Thursday 14 May, there is an opportunity to take part in a range of activities. The activities are curated to explore the culture and heritage of Cambridge.  We have put together 4 options for you to choose from, tailored for a range of different interests.

Coaches will be leaving the Møller Institute at 13:30, taking you to Queen’s Road, Cambridge.  Coaches will then be available at Queen’s Road at 16:45, returning to the Møller Institute, to allow you some time before dinner.

Outdoor escape room

Transform the historic streets of Cambridge into your own giant game board with a captivating outdoor mystery! You’ll step into the role of a detective, navigating winding cobblestone alleys and iconic college backdrops to hunt for hidden clues woven into the city’s architecture. The puzzle is played in teams, we suggest 4-8 people for the best experience, as you work together to solve the Professor's impossible puzzle! It is a wonderful way to see all of the city’s hidden gems.

The Mathematical Bridge, Cambridge

Self guided audio walk around Cambridge

Uncover the university’s legendary feuds and secret past with Hidden Histories and Remarkable Rivalries, a self-guided audio tour voiced by a Cambridge graduate. Using GPS to trigger stories as you walk, this immersive journey leads you through ancient college grounds and hidden passages to reveal the spirited competitions and quirky traditions that shaped the city. It is a flexible, atmospheric experience that lets you explore at your own pace. The audio is only available in English, but the app instructions are accessible in other languages.

Free time to explore, shop and relax around Cambridge

Enjoy some free time to explore Cambridge exactly as you choose, whether that’s browsing the historic bookshops on Trinity Street or discovering the independent boutiques of Rose Crescent. This part of your day is entirely yours to shape, allowing you to hunt for a unique find at the bustling Market Square or simply soak in the iconic river views while favouring the hidden courtyards that give the city its distinctive character.

Where to find support

Raspberry Pi Foundation team members will be available for you to ask for support over Thursday afternoon.

You will be provided with a phone number to contact, should you need support.

Alternatively, there will be members of the Raspberry Pi Foundation available at the Anchor Cambridge on Silver Street, CB3 9EL; what.three.words: sweep.foam.riders.

Coaches depart from Queens Road Coach Park at 16:45, please meet at the coach at 16:40 if you wish to return to the Møller Institute before dinner.

Fitzwilliam Museum tour

Unfortunately, due to industrial action, the Fitzwilliam Museum is no longer able to offer tours on 14 May.
