Issue #172 - PIXEL

Hello there,

What. A. Week. Wow!

You may have noticed that Raspbian has had a facelift in the form of PIXEL, a brand new desktop environment that looks all sorts of beautiful. Hats off to the team responsible. They’re now all having a well-earned rest.

Also, after so many of you voted for your favourite projects, The MagPi Magazine issue 50 is now on sale, offering up the best of the best in our Top 50 Countdown.

We’ve two Picademy events still eligible for registration, so if you’re an educator, or know of one, make sure you spread the word.

Meanwhile, we’re in search of a videographer to join our merry gang at Pi Towers, Cambridge, UK.

Oh, and Eben won the T3 Outstanding Contribution award and spent the evening sitting with Johnny Ball. If you’re English, you’ll appreciate why this is so exciting. If you’re not, well… Johnny Ball is awesome, and that’s all you need to know.

Phew. Right… that’s enough for me. Time for a lie down.

Enjoy your week!

Peace,

Alex
