Cant select 1920 by 1080

Tue Jan 27, 2015 10:07 am

Hi I am using model B+

Code: Select all

$ uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 3.12.35+ #730 PREEMPT Fri Dec 19 18:31:24 GMT 2014 armv6l GNU/Linux
My monitor has a VGA and a DVI port so I am using a HDMI to DVI cable.

Problem is the Pi is selecting 1776 by 952 and there is no option to select any other resolution.

I tried adding hdmi_mode=82
but no change in resolution

Please help me out.

FWIW, you may find these notes of help:
http://www.cpmspectrepi.webspace.virgin ... tings.html
Can you post the output of tvservice -m DMT?
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

Post the output from a tvservice -m CEA && tvservice -m DMT command.

It should run in mode 31. So what do you have that's stopping it? Try adding

Code: Select all

hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=31
to /boot/config.txt and removing any other settings with "hdmi" in them.

Done. Feels the same. What is the command which prints the present screen resolution ?

tvservice -s shows the current video output mode.

and fbset will show you the available framebuffer size (minus the overscan settings)

Have you updated the right config.txt?

If using NOBS use the recovery system config editor.

$ tvservice -s
state 0x120016 [DVI CEA (31) RGB lim 16:9], 1920x1080 @ 50.00Hz, progressive
I guess the correct resolution is selected. Thanks everyone.
