Nothing happens when I power it up...

Fri Jun 29, 2012 5:35 pm

I just got my Raspberry-PI, powersource and SD-card from rs-online. I had already predownloaded Debian and used the windows tool to install it on the SD-card.

But nothing happens when i've plugged the SD-card, ethernet, HDMI and power. I actually dont have a USB keyboard. I have a wireless Logitech but have not tried it. Is a usb keyboard a must have?

The powerled shines bright red :-( does someone have a clue?

It should boot up most of the way without a keyboard, try disconnecting the Ethernet. If you use the new Wheezy beta image, it should get as far as the Raspi-config screen.

I had the same issue, however, botched the SDCard OS install. I re-did it using the Fedora Installer:

There is a Linux and Windows Installer option. Don't forget to unzip the Distro from the compressed file (cause it isn't smart enough to look in the file for the image files).
