Interesting build, I think that if it were me I'd only desolder the bottom 14 pins of the GPIO connector and leave the first 26 in place.

It seems a little pointless to desolder then resolder back in the same place.

I didn't see anything in the write-up about connecting the stripped usb hub to the pi or adding the dongle for the wireless keyboard.

wow nice, Make you look like an elite hacker carrying this around :D

Time to get myself an A+ and dig out my old screen for the GPIO, Looks like a nice project

i've seen this article so many times and the write up is entirely text and lacks a lot of the fun tear down pictures, would love to see what battery and what keyboard is used.
