Try compiling "xpra" and then get back to me, OK now?
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

Surely this cannot be too difficult for average users. There are exceptions of course.
It is when you have to figure out missing packages (or just the wrong version of packages) on the basis of cryptic error messages...
For the average user, who has never seen a command line all this can be extremely intimidating.

It's not nonsense if you just download binaries. The fact is that most of the "source" out there is not really compilable by most people.

In a sense, open-source is just an illusion.

P.S. Note that I said "most people". Don't bother writing in and telling me that *YOU* can compile it. That doesn't touch the assertion about "most people".
"Open source" doesn't mean, that everyone has to compile it himself, but that the source code is freely available on the internet.

I does seem really strange that in Off Topic Forum I posted about HardKernels latest ""RPi Clone"" efforts, nothing more nothing less, and the post has now meanered more than a tramp on speed

So please create your own threads about Open Source and alternative names etcetera
