Loading zImage or Image for Raspberry Pi

Mon Dec 08, 2014 2:51 pm

Friends,

I compiled Linux 3.10.9 with RT patch using make bcm2835_defconfig and obtained a zImage and Image files. Now I have a doubt that how to load the zImage/Image into the sd card and boot from it.

Awaiting for your reply. Thanks in advance.

Krrish.

place it as kernel.img on the fat32 partition. If you're using NOOBS, you need to figure out which is the correct partition yourself.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Which steps did you follow to get the card to the stage it's in now? Did you use win32diskimager, dd, NOOBS, something else...?

Excellent, then just replace kernel.img with the kernel you've compiled.
