Problem with 12V monitor

Fri Dec 05, 2014 4:51 pm

First, I want to say hi to everybody. And sorry for my english, is a little poor, is not my native language.

I bought recently a monitor: http://www.dx.com/es/p/7-tft-lcd-digita ... IHgQclBoqS
This monitor works with 12v, but I need to work with a battery of 5v that I recently bought: http://www.dx.com/es/p/universal-solar- ... IHgMMlBoqR

I heard that this kind of monitor (car monitors) work with 5v, but are prepared for use 12v, the car voltage. But in the motherboard they can be patched to use 5v.
How can I patch this monitor motherboard for use 5v?
I uploaded 2 images of the motherboard, if you need someone more, just tell me.

I tried to patch this with my father, but we failed. Even watching the multimeter
Thanks for help ;)

P.S. I think the voltage regulator is in the left lower corner.

Hi, thanks to answer.
Yes, we think it too, but we test it with multimeter and it dont works.
I saw this guide few days ago, but it talk about other monitor with other motherboard, and the images are too small :(

Can you read something on the chip?
Is there a dot on the chip?
And if so, where is it located?

Hi, I just readed your post.
The problem is solved, I tested the monitor with a 5v source (not 12v) and it works!! I will test it with the battery and the raspberry, but I think it will work.
Anyway, very thanks for the help Laurens ^^
