I imagine there will be something very soon, I am only guessing but I assume things have been held back so everything works with the DSI display when it is released.

Maybe xwayland was never distributed as the code was buggy and still in major development?

Possibly also the foundation hoped to find interested programmers who are enthusiatic enough to try and compile the code, so they could help out?.

As far as I remember xwayland was shown running on the very first rpi preview videos from collabora and there was code in the collabora git repos, the problem was finding the correct version and getting pixman.

I think I posted some outlines of what I tried to get the code compiled (I spent around 10 hours playing but failed).

If you are really interested I think you should search the collabora git repos and maybe send them a question asking what brach should be used to try and compile it?

Otherwise just wait in silence, I doubt asking other people to do the work will get it done any quicker

Probably a little too much guessing and not enough facts in the last post....but I have emailed the Foundation to see if there is any new information on Wayland.Maynard.
