In what context? As part of a web browser or as part of something like node.js?

Thank you for your reply. I need Javascript to enable sound on my Model B Pi. I have received messages saying it is necessary. Perhaps Node is the answer.

If you are looking for JavaScript in a Browser , check out Minimal Kiosk Browser :

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org

That doesn't make any sense. Post the messages on here.

You are not giving any context to your problem.

What messages are your seeing which say that JavaScript is required? Are these messages over the radio, from friends, or are they displayed on the screen in response to some action of yours.

If the Raspberry Pi is displaying the messages what are you doing at the time to trigger the messages?

I have received the message when browsing the British Broadcasting Corp. The vision is excellent but no sound.

What URL, what browser, what message?

Please study this website http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html in detail before you respond because we're not getting very far at all with your problem.

My original enquiry was "how to install javascript on Pi". I forgot to mention that my OS is Linux. When browsing the BBC i could not obtain sound and received a visual message stating I needed to install Javascript on my computer. I am unable to do so.

http://www.bbc.co.uk in Epiphany Browser, which is the default web browser in the lastest Raspbian Wheezy Operating System, renders largely AOK

....though in Epiphany Browser it defaults to the Mobile Website version.

Therefore what is your issue :?:

fyi you can not install anything on the Pi, the RPi is the hardware not the software
Rather than negativity think outside the box !
RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot) RaspiOS64 ARM64
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...
