Transcend read-only when trying to dd

Wed Oct 29, 2014 8:11 pm

As the topic says, when I try to dd, I get : dd: opening `/dev/mmcblk0` : Read-only file system

This is on Debian 7.7, and the card is brand new Transcend TS16GSDHC10 and only has an empty fat32 partition.
I've tried using hdparm -r0 /dev/mmcblk0 but still get the same error when i try to dd.

Solved :D

I dd'ed the image to the first partition, while it was still mounted.
Once that was done, I just dd'ed from /dev/zero so it was empty.

Then it was just to dd the image onto the sd-card again and boot up.
