burning arch to a sd card in windows?

Tue Oct 14, 2014 7:19 am

Hello,
I want to burn the arch linux zip file to my sd card. But as it's not an img file (i've been using dd for those), I can't. I tried to somehow figure out how to make 2 partitions, one fat32 and one ext4, but I didn't find any tool that could do it (and be accessible, using a screenreader). So, could you be any help in this matter? thanks.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. What i'm doing now is getting the une build and then pacman -Syu. It's really sad that raspberrypi.org can't publish .img files now, but it's cool, though you mite want to link to the june build link in the downloads page, because it's just short of impossible to do it in windows. Again, thanks.

This is the developers of the ARCH ARM release and not the responsibility of the RPF, complain to them via their forum

I think ( but dont know ) archlinuxarm.org would disagree with that , it seems that whoever @ arch considers making an img file for non linux users / RPF , to be "out of scope" \ somebody else's problem .
Real life is, to most, a long second-best, a perpetual compromise between the ideal and the possible.

WHATEVER,
Did you know that "whatever" was voted the most annoying word in the English language (2013) ?

my daughter used to say it a lot. The intention was to wind me up, with the meaning "You may think that, but I think you're a twat"

Fortunately she's grown up a bit, and now (occasionally) listens to me.
Instead, she now listens, thinks a bit, then gives me a reasoned and succint argument as to why I am being a total twat.
