movies from usb

i want to use raspberry as media center.
if i plug a flash usb stick with movies on rasp can i play it ?

make sure they are encoded as h264 for a start

with win32DiskIMager i write the image file but after that the sd card is still empty..

whats is going on ?

i done all the instructions the same problem i have. when i install noobs edition i can only choose raspbian, every other image the raspberry doesnt boot .

I always download the latest OpenElec from their WebSite it is now at version 4.2.1

i done all the instructions the same problem i have. when i install noobs edition i can only choose raspbian, every other image the raspberry doesnt boot .
