FCEU doesn't work in Wheezy?

Tue Jun 19, 2012 5:00 pm

I had FCEU working reasonably well on Squeeze (one or two sound issues, but I was hoping updated drivers would fix it), but since trying out Wheezy I can't get it to launch; first run it starts but doesn't get beyond a black screen; hitting Esc closes it. Second run gives the black screen but the Pi locks up completely. Problem persists with and without sound enabled, and using/not using the aoss wrapper doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any suggestions? Anyone had any success with it? Is there a better alternative out there?

Same problems here. I can get it running visually out of the box with the lastest download of the OS, and simply installing it (sudo apt-get install fceu) and running it. Visuals, speed, etc. are fine except no sound.

I tried fooling with the sound options, but eventually ended up with similar issues as you did - would go to black screen and lockup the Pi. Removing and reinstalling fceu had no effect on the lockup issue. Had to reimage my SD card to working out of the box. However, still no sound.

FCEU is also marked as "in testing" for the wheezy distro (http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/fceu).
