Raspberry pi forum error

Tue Sep 02, 2014 11:30 am

Hello!
It seems that there is something wrong with the raspberry pi website. I keep getting SQL errors, most stating that there is too much traffic and another stating that a server is shutting down. I also noticed that the speeds are slower. Is there any purpose for this and will it be resolved?

It is not the Website, it is to do with the Hosting Server or your ISP AFAIAA

It's to do with the folks hosting http://raspberrypi.org/forums there's a cluster of machines running this website and at least one of them is badly borked.

Probably not ISP, since I've been changing to public networks and cellular. Anyone else have this problem? Not an expert on networking, so any problem is a chance to learn. ;)

It's a feechur of phpBB3 that it moans about too many connections rather than finding a way to close/reuse dormant connections. phpBB3 is an excellent example of how NOT to write a forum management program.

Along with all the other examples of things people use that don't work well. :D
