Wi-Pi USB Adapter

Hi

I'm having trouble setting up the Wi-Pi USB Adapter on Raspberry PiType B.
I have a Raspbian set-up (installed with Noobs).

The user interface tool gives an error 'could not get status from wpa_supplicant'
