Talking of sound (too lazy to read up) should sound work via HDMI?

Don't think so, but you can probably connect a USB sound device -- microphones definitely work.

....I should mention that I have for sale a 1.5m x 1m sheet of 10mm polycarbonate for sale with a 350mm x 100mm rectangle cut off one corner.
Just kidding; its not for sale! I'm going to make a custom case for my PC now
