Freezing

I have a Pi B+.
I'm using an apple 5v 1A power supply.
I have a wireless adapter.

I'm finding that when I'm watching a film streamed, I get to about 2 hours and the whole thing goes from being a flawless experience to a jittery, freeze-fest that makes the whole pi stop responding to either the USB remote and even drops the connection the iOS app remote control.

I have added the advancedsettings.xml to allow the buffer cache to use the SDcard (class 4, 8Gb).

It has happened now on two different films from two different steaming services and both were around the two hour mark. When it all starts going wrong, I am completely unable to access the play/pause or stop function (or any other function for that matter). As I've said, the playback up to this point is usually without problems, but once it goes, it's unusable. I ended up pulling the plug on both occasions.

Any ideas?

Further to all of that, I found that if I do pull the plug and restart, I can scrub to the end of the movie and it'll run fine. I'm still assuming this is a caching problem, but I don't have a scooby's on how to fix it.
