64GB Micro SDXC Class 10 U1 - Compatibility with RPi B+

Mon Aug 04, 2014 2:07 pm

Hi
Can anyone advice whether a 64GB Micro SDXC Class 10 U1 is compatible with RPi B+. I have tried formatting the SDXC card with the SDformatter as well as the EaseUS Partition Master 10.0 but in vain.

The image that I am looking to copy is over 34GB.

Thank you.

What (specifically) have you tried/attempted?

What error messages did you get?
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

(One of the best lines I've seen on this board lately)

It could be the card was formatted as eFAT by the utilities you used, because of the large size. Afaik the RPi only knows about fat and fat32.

Can you try formatting as fat32?

Hi
I have tried formatting the sdxc from the default exFat to a Fat 32.
Copied the NOOBS.
Tried to boot.
The RPI B+ doesn't seem to recognize the OS.

Note: I am able to boot with the original 8 GB card that came with the RPI with NOOBS.

Thank you.

@Hansotten - the SDXC was formatted as FAT32.
@RaTTus - Previously, I used the Offline and network install. I am attempting to download the image again and giving it a go with the
Win32Diskimager.
WiIll update on the progress shortly.

Thank you

Hi
The image was downloaded from http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_latest
Used Win32Diskimager to copy the image across.
But the RPi doesn't recognize the Raspbian and does not boot-up.

Thank you
