remote connect from outside network

Mon Jul 21, 2014 4:07 pm

I want to us this to display images/slideshows. I plan to use LibreOffice to run the slideshow. My question is how do I set it up so that I can remote in from an outside network to start a slideshow or change it. I want to be able to do this from my home computer...or possibly other locations.

I found the post below on using windows remote desktop connection...but it appears this is if they are on the same network. What additional steps must be done to connect from outside?

Google for "port forwarding".
This port forwarding must be set on a router which RasPi is connected to (true for small home networks but not necessarily true if you have also Ethernet switches/APs... this router of interest is a bridge box between internet and internal network).

Best wishes, Ivan Zilic.
Running out of GPIO pins and/or need to read analog values?
