Hardwiring a remote control

Wed Jul 16, 2014 8:09 pm

Hi all,

I want a way to control multiple power outlets using an RPi. The way I'd like it do it is to buy an remote-controlled power outlet kit, like this one.

The question is, how do I "control" the remote control using the RPi? I found this question on Stack Exchange (see 2nd answer), but the author just says "hardwire the RPi to the remote".

How do I hardwire it? Do I need a relay of some sort? (I'm new to the RPi.)

Thank you.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I just bought the etekcity outlet switch and would love to find some instructions for hardwiring the remote.
