Hexxeh Raspbian R3 GPG Error

Mon Jun 11, 2012 9:12 pm

Hey all, just downloaded Hexxeh's new Raspbian image and I'm having issues running apt-get update.

I get GPG errors on http://archive.raspbian.org wheezy InRelease stating that the file doesn't start with a clearsigned message.

I can't install anything without being able to do an update. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm over in the US, if that makes any difference.

Thanks,
JBro

The file looks fine to me.

Can you try running apt-get update again and if that fails can you post the exact error you are getting?

Also can you confim if you are using the main repo or one of the mirrors?

can you manually download http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian/di ... /InRelease using wget and inspect the contents of the file you receive?

Firstly place try again, sometimes this sort of thing is caused simply by hitting a repo that is in the middle of being updated.

If it's stil broken can you try downloading http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian/di ... /InRelease using wget and looking at the resulting file?

What kind of internet connection are you using?

I have tried again but it doesn't work again.
I've downloaded the file you said:

I can pretty categorically state that the content you pasted did not come from our server.

It seems to me that something on your network is blocking your Pi's attempts to download stuff from our server.

Ok.. Is there a specified port for this kind of request? Vodafone station firewalls some ports, but I can set firewall off..

I have tried wget http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/d ... /InRelease from my mac and the file downloaded is completely different...
RaspberryPI is connected through ethernet cable to Vodafone station (Router/AccessPoint/Gateway/ etc). My mac is connected through wifi to vodafone station again..I'm controlling raspberry through ssh from my mac..

if I do

Code: Select all

ping www.google.com
it works, but with wget doesn't..
Seems that only port 80 is blocked but I think no firewall blocking port 80 exists..It won't make sense.

Can you actually try running a web browser on the Pi? it seems to me that the router is trying to hijack the session to ask you something....

Unfortunately i'm not sure if hexxeh R3 includes a browser by default or not which may leave you with a bit of a chicken and egg problem :(

SOLVED!
As you said, vodafone station wanted to tell me to download its own app for configuration. I have downloaded the app but not installed. Then it worked :)

1) RaspberryPI connected through ethernet cable to Vodafone station through TP Link power line adapter
2) mac connected through wifi to vodafone station
3) I'm also controlling raspberry through ssh from my mac

but I really did not understand how you solved the problem. If you can better explain me I really appreciate (anche in italiano ...).

SOLVED the problem of the GPG error on the first internet access with Vodafone station 2 router

Open the graphical interface with startx
Open Midora browser
You will find the vodafone app download page
Just download the linux version of the app

Hi to everyone!

I also had this problem and since I'm running KODI/XBMC I didn't really want to lose time trying to install another desktop environment.

Solved it connecting to my rasp via SSH using the -D option (

Code: Select all

ssh user@rasp -D 1234
), then fired up Firefox from my mac and set the socks proxy to localhost and port 1234, "donwloaded" the vodafone software and now everything is up & running!

Hate Vodafone everyday a little more...

Cheers guys
