Can't connect to Pi from Windows 7 using RDP

Wed Jul 02, 2014 3:24 pm

I've been dealing with this issue for days now and haven't been able to find a proper solution. I have 1 Raspberry Pi and windows 7 64-bit desktop both on the same network. I've been following the directions in this guide:

http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/How-To:I ... aspberryPi

However after installing XRDP and trying to connect to it from windows RDP I get the error in the picture attached. I checked to make sure that the Static IP was correct and that XRDP was running on.

Have you checked that you can reach the Pi from the Windows PC (using ping for example)

Oh, and if you used broadcast and network lines in the static ip settings it's best to remove them. Apparently there's potential for problems if you keep them.

Yeah I can ping to that IP from Windows ipconfig. However since playing with it some more today I was able to access it in RDP once I opened port 7876 for LAN on my router. Now I have a different set of problems related to why I was setting up xrdp in the first place (setting up a NXT client on my PI) :x
