First post here and new pi user here.
I just installed wheezy-raspbian onto an SD card and entered startx at the command line. No desktop icons appear, just the raspberry logo and start menu type thing allowing me to run programs. Rebooting and entering lightdm shows the raspberry logo but has a nice bunch of desktop icons to click.
Can I type startx to somehow boot to a desktop that has icons on it?
