Pi project requiring voice recognition and synthesis

Tue Jun 10, 2014 3:38 pm

Hi,

I am working on a project which can help blind people navigate through voice input/output. The project will involve taking using input from a bluetooth headset, processing it on the Raspberry Pi and then outputting a response back to the user through the bluetooth headset. I learned about the Jarvis speech recognition system, but is this system compatible with bluetooth usage (through a headset). Furthermore, is there a speech synthesis tool/library that I can use for producing sound?

Thanks

There is a chapter in the book: Raspberry Pi Robotic Projects, by Richard Grimmett. It has a chapter on speech recognition and synthesis. I think it is chapter 10, or nearby. It is available at amazon, in an epub format.
