FPS for games

Mon Apr 28, 2014 5:40 pm

Hi everyone.

I'm just a begginer and i want to measure fps for native games on Kano OS.
If there are any ideas? Could you help me with this?

You can check phoronix benchmark tool and scripts used to measure FPS of games, like: http://openbenchmarking.org/innhold/652 ... 1a0dc5fa91 (http://www.phoronix-test-suite.com). In general the game must support some sort of replay or execution of given scenario as fast as it can to cooperate with this.

You can run even some phoronix benchmarks on Pi, but if they do work on ARM they can take long hours or days to complete on Raspberry Pi, for example: http://openbenchmarking.org/result/1305 ... 305102FO57

Thank's for your advice.
I've tried phoronix benchmark such tests as openarena and vdrift but an erorr failed that tests aren't supported armv61.
I've also tried such tools as GLXOSD,yokon, glmark2, mumble but has no results/

As long you don't explicitly use Broadcoms Open GL ES implementation on the Pi , you will get a heavily skewed impression of the Pis capabilities.
Software rendering is not fast on any platform , and the Pi with its meagre CPU can not compare on that department.

As to how to measure the frame-rate of OpenGL ES programs , i have no idea.

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org

You would have to edit the openarena script for it to use system openarena and not its own which in this case doesn't work on this arch. The it could spawn some results :)
