GPIO Pins

I wish to create an arcade table that has sixteen buttons and two joysticks. I believe that the number of GPIO pins on the raspberry pi is not enough for what I want. What should I get that expands the number of GPIO pins?

Theres that option, or if youre dead set on making it yourself, look at the "kade"

you could try soldering it to a keyboard core so that it will perform a keypress. (Tutorial) it is not that difficult and it is easy configurable. but it is way easier to just buy a usb joystick
