Connecting to RaspBMC with VNC app

Tue Apr 08, 2014 4:20 am

Hi all, I have a model B Raspberry pi running Raspbian, Pidora, and RaspBMC all on one 8GB card(w/ NOOBS). Lately I've been playing around with RaspBMC(there's a lot of cool stuf you can do with that!) and discovered in the RaspBMC settings(the one under programs, not system) that there is an option to allow VNC server. I have this app on my ipad because I was planning to use it with the Kano OS, but haven't got a chance to get that one yet. Anyway, I enabled it, rebooted the pi, and tried to connect with my iPad, but it won't connect, the VNC app just says "connection request timed out". Any ideas why it's not working?

P.S. The pi is connected to the internet via USB wifi.
I correctly entered the pi IP address into the VNC app

Any help is greatly appreciated,
BluRazPi

Did you also enter the correct port number that the vnc server is running on?

Is there a firewall between you and port 1194 on your RPi?
