More of a base than a case

Sun Jun 03, 2012 8:21 pm

A simple idea to protect my slice of pi. I haven't seen this posted before so I thought I would share it with you...

OK so I failed to upload the image so a description will have to do for now.

The base plate is a scrap CD disk with holes drilled in. Three plastic standoffs support the pcb by trapping each edge under a nut. Careful positioning of the supports ensures that components and tracks are kept safe.

The pi is supported raised off the ground safe from being shorted out.

If I manage to work out why my image wouldn't upload I'll put the picture up.

Sounds very much like the method I just posted in this thread: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =40&t=7330

My standoffs are metal, so I'm using some plastic washers as well.

That's exactly what I was trying to describe - thanks.

I don't know why my image wouldn't upload maybe there is,a resolution limit?

...or maybe there is a block on uploads for the first three posts. Hurry up mods and release this post into the wild so I can share my image please.

New users must wait for three post approvals before they are given the usual posting rights on this forum.

Could you please try again when your post count is >= 3? If it continues to be a problem for you then I'll raise the issue with the admins.

Thanks Steve. My last post was #3 so the next one is the acid test!

Still having trouble uploading an image. I dropped the resolution down each attempt. At the moment when I attempt to upload it errors saying invalid image. It's a 640x368 jpeg
129KB taken on and sent from an HTC one running Android ICS so I doubt the image format is the issue.

Just upload your pics somewhere else, like http://imgur.com/ :-)

Once uploaded, grab the BB code and paste it here. It will look something like this:
