Fire Alarm Tones = Alarm Sounding

Has anyone found a way to take the tones that come from a fire scanner used to dispatch apparatus to a call, and when a programed tone comes across the radio some sort of extra alert goes off?

I would like to have a light flash or even turn on lights on a timer.

The problem will be to tie into the audio output of the device. I don't think that the department would appreciate you hacking their devices.
