SD card image

Mon Mar 24, 2014 6:19 pm

I have just written (I think) an image onto an SD card. The image is 2.96 GB but the finished size on the SD card is only 58.7 MB. Have I done something wrong?

Cheers

Brian

No, don't think you've done anything wrong. It will look like this if you are looking at the SD card using a Windows computer, not sure about a MAC computer. The SD card has two partitions the first small one is recognised by Windows and is usually FAT16 or FAT32. A second partition uses a Linux format that Windows does not recognise so doesn't show it. So all you will see is the small partition and nothing else.

On a Windows system if you use Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management it will show the second partition but will not give any info except size.
