wifi hotspot access point default page?

Mon Mar 17, 2014 1:18 pm

hi,

I have successfully setup hostap, busy boxe's dhcp server and apache. Assume I have a static IP as 10.0.0.1. On attached clients, I have to type 10.0.0.1 and my main page appears.

When at a hotel recently, I noticed they had a page come up automatically for login, when anyone opens a browser.

I assume for this I have to report my dns as 10.0.0.1, primary and secondary via hostap configuration?

Does anyone know how I can setup either apache or other components to direct inital requests to 10.0.0.1 so my page opens automatically, even if they try hitting google or someother site.

I am thinking they will do an nslookup on dns for say google.co.uk or whatever their default page is, and raspbian should then return the server details for 10.0.0.1, is that right?

Regards,

dc
