Running WINE in order to use Brother Airscouter

Sun Mar 16, 2014 11:02 pm

Hey all,

I am currently trying to use a Brother airscouter for a project but it only runs on Windows systems. I've heard that Wine supposedly could be used in order to make that connection work but I know very little about it.

Does anyone know if that is possible? :)

It's not possible WINE requires the host processor to be Intel or x86 compatible the Pi is ARMv6.

How does it interface with the windows pc?

In my experience, no device is linux compatible, linux is device compatible (subtle difference). In theory, Its possible to persuade the pi to talk to it. End of the day, its just sending data down a cable. The hard part is working out the correct way to send the data (compression ect)
