PiMame - Nes on boot

Alright, I'm going to make this quick and to the point.
I'm working on a nes arcade machine using the pi. I'm running pimame to do this. I'm able to boot straight into a nes rom by adding

advmess nes -cart romname

Into .profile but I can't figure out how to make it boot into the menu for choosing the game
If anyone knows how that would be great
