ArchLinux download issue?

Tue Feb 25, 2014 3:19 am

I looked around a bit for this topic and could not find it. I'm having issues downloading Archlinux as a direct download. I've downloaded both raspbian, and raspbmc before, but I cant download it for some reason. it starts out very slow and then the download just ends up dying off . It is at 21.3MB/183MB right now and this is the farthest i've seen it go so far. I tried to download it directly from the archlinux website. @ http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6/raspberry-pi . That downloaded, but I could not get it unzipped for some weird reason. I'm not a super techie, so maybe i'm doing something wrong or stupid. Any help? Im running ubuntu 13.10
Thanks
ps. It just quit by the time i wrote that last sentince

I download my images the old fashioned way using wget -c, and that will pick up where a download stopped.

Could be your internet connection, that is my guess.

If you cannot unzip the next try, do an "gunzip -t" to test the gzip file first. I have had some files (not necessarily Arch images) that I download and they get corrupted, best thing to do is test integrity of the file after download.

There also is an sha5sum or something like that you can download, and run that check to see if the checksums match. If they do not, your download got corrupted.
