Administrator Password

I received my Pi on Friday and I'm having fun trying things out. I noticed that the SD card space is limited due to the image. When I tried to run Gparted to reallocate the partition I'm asked for the Administrator/Root password. Does anyone know what this is ???

There is no administrator/root account in Debian, you need to use the sudo command. you can run gparted as root by opening a terminal window and typing:

sudo gparted.

if you have loads to do and get bored of sudoing all the time, you can always do:

sudo su
