Reduce IMG file type?

Hi everyone, I am using raspberry pi. I had imaged my SD card. After I changed to IMG file type of my SD card, the file size is too big. I would like to reduce it without losing any information in it. How can I do it?

I am not sure what you did and what you mean. Can you go into more detail about the steps you followed? There is no file type of IMG. but after you unzip the downloaded file, it will be an IMG file.

What did you download? What system do you want to run on your Pi? It might be better to download the specific image for the system you want and then dd that instead of NOOBs, if that is what you did.
