Among these extra's I found the RS232 max chip MAX3107 very interesting! No buffer over- or underruns any more! No fancy programming necessary, this chip has got RTS/CTS hardware handshaking with a hardware FIFO buffer!
He also wrote the drivers for it. His project is on http://www.Kickstarter.com has only 16 days to go, I hope he makes it.
