USB Error - Cannot reset Port

Sat May 26, 2012 11:43 am

Hi

Has anybody seen
'hub 1-1:1.0: cannot reset port 1 (err = -110)'
and
'hub 1-1:1.0: cannot reset port 1 (err = -19)'
'hub 1-1:1.0: cannot disable port 1 (err = -19)'

I cannot get any keyboard to work on the USB port and runinng
debian6 19-04-12

This is a new PI so i am wondering if its faulty?

Thanks

Peter

Yes, I've seen it. Er, I used to see it. That message has vanished for me once I got a good quality power supply, and plugged the keyboard and mouse into a powered USB hub.

Interestingly all PSU's I tried caused USB failures on boot (without any USB devices plugged in) . I used the USB interface on TV and USB ports installed on boot. Plugged in kybd and that worked but not the mouse. Used powered USB hub as suggested and all works.
Looks like you have to be meticulous in your power source selection.

I've just bought a raspberry pi starter kit from maplin. I've plugged my mouse and keyboard into the powered usb hub that was provided. But on startup i get the error code -19 and then -110.

Any help?
