Hey Wayne :)

I was just looking at these on YouTube and they look pretty sweet. I did a quick search to see if I could find a UK distributor and came across both your listing here and on Ebay. I'm not sure what the RRP is, but yours look pretty reasonable, so I've ordered one.

I'm looking forward to playing with it. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for ordering one. They seem to be out of stock most of the time in the US and the UK so have fun with yours, posting it today :)

All the best

Just a quick follow-up post. So, it took me until earlier tonight to actually solder the header pins on and install the software. I followed the guide on the Adafruit site, it was pretty simple and worked first time.

If anyone is considering purchasing one of these, I would highly recommend it.

@Wayne, thank you again :)

did you use the newest version of wheezy? My only deviation was that I used the new download. Nothin from the tft. About to check my soldering. any tips? see below for various troubleshooting.

This could be a solution: https://github.com/notro/fbtft/issues/63

I will give that a try on the newer distribution of wheezy when I have a chance.

I sure Adafruit recently said PiTFT was having issues with the latest wheezy distribution and recommend people drop back to wheezy 2013-09-25.

I am thinking of grabbing one of these to use as a sort of remote for a Pi which is currently plugged into a monitor via HDMI.

Any thoughts on if I can use a dual display setup with the little touchscreen to control the content viewed on the monitor? I would be running Plex, Slideshows etc.

Thoughts?

That would work but it is really small and lores. I have considered building a little gtk interface for something similar.
