Screen Resolution

Fri Dec 27, 2013 5:45 pm

Hi there,

So I'm a total newbie who was gifted a RPi Model B this Christmas, and I've successfully installed and loaded up Raspbian using the NOOBS setup, however the resolution on my TV (connecting via HDMI) doesn't match very well, meaning I have a lot of wasted space on the screen and the text is difficult to read. How exactly do I go about fixing this issue so that the RPi can correctly output onto the TV?

I tried the TV option but the RPi said it could not get TV data or something like that (this is me trying to paraphrase from yesterdays attempts).

It would be great if anyone could give me any pointers on a workaround for this.
