free charge energy for pi [SOLVED]

Thu Dec 26, 2013 3:24 am

oi

I am no DIY guy, but I was watching this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKjoDuYKAs8
and this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb0SWBGDySg
and there are some others, but...

I am interested in how much ampers can we get out of it?
in second video we can see that guy gets good 2 volts,
and hooks it up to charge phone...
... can we charge raspberry pi with that kind of circuit?

I would like to try this circuit myself,
those diodes are in order, kind of hard to get,
and I am total noob in this matter,
but some of you guys handle this quite well,
and if you can assemble similar thing,
that can produce 5 volts and around 1000 mili-amperes...
...it may end up on raspberry pi board, kheh heh heh...

help appreciated

None. These “free energy” circuits cannot work.

scruss hello,

oh, none of worth mentioning...?

...but I ordered those diodes...

well, I guess I will post my results after I wire up my circuit,
I want to know how little I will get,
for money I spent, khahaha...

scruss, thanks for heads up!

Those circuits could work - but you would need a few million of them to get anywhere near enough power to run a Pi.

They are a simple un-tuned passive radio receiver with a couple of electrolytic capacitors to store the tiny amount of received power.

Also, in some countries they might be technically illegal (harvesting of broadcast energy), as that energy belongs to the broadcaster - but I doubt anyone would care or even notice.

Bottom line: Don't bother. You will get enough power to register on a good digital multimeter, but the amount of power the meter will take from its battery during the reading will be more than the circuit is receiving.

Something of the sort can be used to get significant amounts of power if you happen to live under a high-tension power transmission line (with the kind of field strength where a fluorescent light bulb will light when you just hold one end of it up in the air). It amounts to a large-air-gap transformer, and needless to say the power company frowns on the practice.

hello guys!

oh, no hope, ha?

and there I was, putting one and one together for the good of the mankind, khahaha...

thanks for lightning fast response and mostly for your time.

My father once visited a house where we planned to go and live, but it happened to be at the foot of one of the largest TV transmitting antenna's in the country, and it had TL lamps that were on even with the power off! You had to unscrew them and put them in a closet to get darkness. Obviously we did not go live there!
