Dont boot sucsesfully

Hi,
My raspberry were on, when i came back to it it was off. When i started it, it wont boot sucsesfully. Everything goes right untill it loads the openelec software, Then the screen starts "flickering" between black and the openelec/xbmc logo and do like that for hours.
whats wrong? I can still connect to it trough ssh, but screen just flickering.
P.s i have tried on a different monitor and still the same.

Sounds to me like it tried updating overnight, then when you rebooted something went wrong...

Likely to be solved by updating / reimaging / recovering the filesystem... If you can still talk to it then you should be able to copy any settings from the box before reflashing...

How do i copy/backing up all the settings and addons?

[gsh]

I do it through the samba server (windows network) and copy all the files in the userdata share.

Not sure about add_ons, they may be stored elsewhere...
