Wi-Pi not working

Mon Dec 09, 2013 5:00 pm

I recently purchase a Raspberry PI with a Wi-Pi USB adapter.

When I plug in the Wi-Pi, it sees my network, but it will not connect. After about a minute, it looses the network and cannot find it when it select Scan.

Can anyone help me to resolve this problem?

I am using Raspian.
When I run Wi-Fi config it initially sees the network. The name of the network appears. But then I get the error under status "Could not get status from wpa_supplicant"

I did try it with a short cable. Same results.

In the adapter field it displays wian0
