Stereo 3D HD cam with surround sound

Tue Nov 26, 2013 3:32 pm

I want to create a stereo 3d hd cam with surround sound. Portable.

So two cameras recording with 30fps at 1920x1080 and 3 cheap usb soundcards on a powered usb adapter each being able to record in stereo.

Problems:

- Can the raspberry pi deal with that amount of data? Can it do live compression? Which amount of space should the sd card have for operating system + 4h video + (4h audio * 6 = 12h audio)?
- Which kind of portable power supply is good?
- Should I use the cameras of the pi that can be plugged in or some ready made 3d webcam(should be capable of 1920x1080@30fps)

So far

All the best

PS: I just found this: http://www.amazon.de/Sony-Camcorder-Meg ... B004IWRH0W Probably a better idea to limit myself to the surround sound on pi, right?
