Advice for first time user

Hi all

I'm looking for for advice on a first time pi purchase/setup. I would like it for playing media from network NAS box and streaming internet tv, BBC iPlayer etc. I would like it to be wireless and have a dedicated IR remote (don't want to use phone/tablet apps).

Any advice on what I need to purchase appreciated and which system should I install for using it as media player.

And is it fairly easy to set up for use with wireless & IR Remote - total pi novice here!
