XBMC - Crash when browsing to network folder with Movies

Sun Oct 13, 2013 9:14 pm

I have the Rpi for a week now and having lots of fun playing with it.
Since yesterday the fun is changing to frustration..
While watching a film (over Network, file of 4gb) yesterday the Pi kept crashing during playback of the film.
A day earlier, another film, same size, there was no problem, no crashes.
Now, every time I want to browse the network movie folder, as soon as I click on the folder name with 12 movies in it, Raspbmc crashes saying "Relax, etc etc "
My poweradapter is 5v 1200mAH so that should be enough.
Multimeter reading of T1 and T2 is about 4.98 V.
What can be wrong, any ideas?

Thanks!

Hmm. That sounds like it could be a bug. I would suggest two things to try.
Reformat the SD card and reinstall Raspbmc, try again.
If that fails, see if you also get the error with OpenElec (so reformat again and this time install OpenElec instead of Raspbmc).

May be a corrupted file in your movie folder, check xbmc.log for errors (you will probably have to turn on debugging)

Edit: Also try turning off "Extract media info from files" in xbmc settings

Return to “Troubleshooting”
