Who is interesting to support Pidora?

Sun Sep 15, 2013 6:12 pm

Hi,

I really want to continue using Pidora with a long term support.
A I read that Seneca has left it and the project is dead, I suggest we continue it by our own.

Let me know who is interested and which skills you can bring to that project?

Don't believe everything you read here. Pidora 19 and 20 builds are in progress.

Yeah, but the question is: Will it (they) be any more likely to be finished than build 18 was?

I.e., it sounds like we will end up with 2 more carcasses on the ground...
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

...does it really matter, Raspbian, Arch and RiscOS cover the bases of choice !
Searching is easy, most questions have been asked before !

As with all things, it matters (to you) if it matters to you.

I used Red Hat varieties of Linux early on, but then switched over to Debian and have generally thought that the Debian varieties were more logical. But the RH versions do have some aesthetic appeal. On the Pi specifically, Raspbian reminds me of MS Windows, while Pidora reminds me of the Mac. Think about that metaphor and let it sink in a bit...

I ran Pidora (via NOOBS) for a while (about 2 months) until it crashed and burned (corrupting the SD card). Then I switched back to Raspbian.

I installed the refreshed Pidora Image, and have had no issues at all.

Excellent news.
Why the pidora web site is not updated according to this info?
I mean, why do we need to investigate to get this kind of info?

Resources are very likely constrained.
If you have the skills and would like to help, they can always use qualified people.
