HELP (Discouraged)

Mon Sep 02, 2013 8:19 pm

Greetings, I'm becoming increasingly discouraged with the Pi and Raspbmc. I believe I've followed the install process correctly and even found tweaks to speed up Raspbmc. However it is still unbearably slow and now it shuts off when trying to load a show. Can someone help me out, give me some insight as to if I'm doing something wrong, should I try openELEC or will that be pretty much the same situation. I'm really really fascinated with the idea of a $40 media center but my experience so far is leaning me towards a pricey Intel NUC. Please sway me back. Thanx.

Probably power supply related, see the wiki here http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting# ... r_problems

Also running Rasbian on a different SD card. Power supply not issue. (LG Nexus 4 charger 1.2A) Trying RetroPie on Raspbian to see how it performs. (Not preferred or intended purpose though)

Raspbian doesn't put near the load on the PI that xbmc does. Just because Raspbian runs does not mean that the power supply can support the extra load needed by XBMC.

Anyways best take this discussion to the Raspbmc forums if you need additional help http://forum.stmlabs.com/index.php
